This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward thinking Insurance business. My client is on a transformation journey to accelerate data driven decision making and AI capability and is looking to appoint a Head of Data Management into the team.


Must have experience of working in the Insurance Sector


The role holder will be responsible for enabling the company's data foundation pillar to unlock the power of data in evolving the data management practices across the business.


Key Accountabilities:


  • Lead the Group's Data Management Strategy - encompassing approaches to Data Quality, Data Cataloguing, Metadata & Lineage, Master Data Management and Reference data. Develop Data modelling practices and implement.
  • Hands on experience in building and implementing architecture blueprint at enterprise level.
  • Develop Data Management Capability - Build a team of Data Management specialists that partner with business, technology and architecture colleagues across the Group and manage our critical data entities across their lifecycle from the point of definition and creation to archiving and destruction.
  • Establish Centre of Excellence drive adoption of data management by design within the delivery lifecycle in an agile methodology and establish Data Management council.
  • Partner With and Influence Cross-Functional Teams - proactively collaborate with engineering, enterprise architecture and technology colleagues to influence embedding of data management best practice.
  • Champion Data Management Best Practice and implement Data Fabric to turn data into asset for R Communicate technical solutions to business partners in a meaningful way.
  • Establish Robust Data Governance including Data Quality Process -Develop and implement Data Governance framework /Data management tooling, policies and procedures.
  • Ensure roll-out of Data Management policies - drive embedding of policy across the business and drive improvements in quality of our critical data sets through measurement and governance.
  • Bring Structure to Data Management Planning - ensure we have a clear data management blueprint for the future, a clear plan and all the necessary capabilities to deliver it successfully.


Technical Skills


  • Results Driven Track Record - 10+ years of relevant experience in data management, and leadership roles.
  • Experience of implementing Cloud based Data tooling especially in Azure.
  • Experience of Data Mgmt. Tooling - proficient in data management technologies and advancements, understanding capabilities, strengths, and weaknesses Experience with various data governance, catalog and quality tools such as Collibra, Informatica, SAP, and/or Microsoft Purview.
  • Data Modelling expertise including Conceptual and Logical modelling and tooling such as Erwin/Er studio.
  • Deep knowledge of industry-leading data quality and data management practices and tooling.
  • Data management certification such as DAMA preferred.
  • Experience with Master Data Management, and Reference data management tools.
