Your expertise in brand management, strategic planning, and relationship-building will be instrumental in driving brand growth, increasing sales, and strengthening partnerships with our customers.

Launched in 2008, Brockman’s has become one of the largest independent super premium British gin brands, blending substance and style, the ‘Properly Improper Gin” is unlike any other gin you tasted before. Crafted with ‘Dark Berries and Noble Traditions’, it is a revelation of unexpected individual taste for gin enthusiasts and novices alike. It stands proudly alone from other types of gin due to the unique recipe of “Proper” traditional botanicals and time-honoured patient steeping distillation process together with “Improper” botanicals like aromatic wild blackberries and blueberries, refreshing citrus and coriander, presented in an attractive and alluring dark tactile bottle.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Brand Management: Oversee and manage the brand, understanding their unique value & disruptive proposition, target audience and market positioning within the on-trade and off-trade sectors.
2. Annual Brand Planning: Collaborate with brand owners and internal departments at Proof Drinks to develop the annual brand plan, incorporating market insights, sales forecasts, promotional strategies, and distribution goals. Ensure alignment with brand owners' objectives and company strategies (including the Properly Improper Gin).
3. Brand Strategy Implementation: Execute the annual brand plan, translating strategic objectives into actionable plans and initiatives across the on-trade and off-trade channels. Continuously monitor and evaluate performance against targets and adjust strategies accordingly.
4. Sales and Distribution Support: Work closely with the Proof Drinks sales team to provide sales materials and promotional support. Ensure strong brand representation and consistent messaging to drive customer engagement and increase sales volumes in both on-trade establishments (e.g., bars, restaurants) and off-trade retailers (e.g., supermarkets and e-commerce eg Amazon).
5. Relationship Management: Build and nurture strong relationships with brand owners, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration, timely communication, and alignment of objectives. Act as the main point of contact for brand-related enquiries and issues, facilitating smooth communication and resolution.
6. Trade Marketing Initiatives: Develop and execute trade marketing initiatives, including trade promotions, merchandising programs, and brand activations, tailored for both the on-trade and off-trade channels that bring to life the brands proposition. Collaborate with the trade marketing team to ensure the effective implementation of these initiatives at the point of sale.
7. Brand Performance Evaluation: Monitor and analyse brand performance metrics, such as sales volume, distribution and ROS across both on-trade and off-trade channels. Provide regular reports and insights to internal stakeholders and brand owners, highlighting areas of success and opportunities for improvement.
8. Budget Management: Develop and manage brand marketing budgets, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and adherence to targets. Monitor expenses and track return on investment for various marketing activities across the on-trade and off-trade sectors.
9. Brand Compliance and Guidelines: Ensure compliance with brand guidelines across all marketing and promotional materials for both on-trade and off-trade channels. Maintain brand consistency and integrity in all communication channels.
10. Industry Networking: Actively participate in industry events, trade shows, and conferences within the on-trade and off-trade sectors to stay updated on market trends, build relationships with key stakeholders, and identify potential partnership opportunities.
11. Line Management: successfully line manage UK brand ambassador, ensuring KPI’s are tracked and reported. Maintain clear communication (internal and external) with the sales team to generate leads and support new listings.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Brand Manager in the drinks industry or a related field. Gin or Super Premium Drinks Brand experience preferable.
- Strong understanding of the UK drinks market, including the on-trade and off-trade channels, key trends, customer preferences, and competitive landscape.
- Excellent knowledge of brand management principles, marketing strategies, and trade marketing practices within both the on-trade and off-trade sectors.
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills to effectively collaborate with brand owners, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Proactive and results-oriented, with a focus on driving brand growth, increasing sales volumes, and achieving targets within the on-trade and off-trade channels.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey brand messages and marketing plans effectively.
- Knowledge of the distribution process and logistics within the drinks industry is a plus.
- Organised with an ability to multitask, prioritise, and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a timely manner.
- Passion for the drinks industry and a strong commitment to staying updated on industry trends and innovations.
