V&C Associates are partnering with one of the UK’s most successful lifestyles brand across soft separates, Dresses and Jersey with a strong emphasis on Print. They are recruiting for a talented and creative Freelance Designer to join their creative design team working with the Design Director and owner of this fast-growing lifestyle brand.. This key position will be responsible for developing and designing capsule collections and the successful candidate must have a strong brand experience.
Key requirements include:-
- Collaborating with the Head of Design in designing and developing collections from the moment of their conception up to the production process.
- Being able to carry out trend research, attend trade shows, and go on shopping and development trips for inspiration.
- Sourcing new fabrics, trimmings and shapes for your design ideas. Participating in the selection of the colour palette, key shapes, key fabrics and key looks for the campaign.
- Ensuring proper sample development, designing specs and supervising their modifications for production.
- Liaising with national and international suppliers, as well as with the department’s buyers and merchandisers, for sample validation, purchasing and production.
- Creating and working with prints & Graphics and working with licences
What you need:-
- 5+ years’ experience in the industry working for a brand or retailer
- Knowledge and understanding of trend/ materials and construction
- To be up to date with all recent social, fashion trends and emerging trends
- Good time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and work to multiple deadlines.
- Comfortable working at a very fast pace.
- Excellent knowledge and experience with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Comfortable working with office programmes ( Microsoft Excel, Word, etc).
- To be motivated and develop innovative and new graphics.
