Principal Solutions Architect - Abu Dhabi


Based in Abu Dhabi - UAE (onsite 3-4 days p/w)

Are you a seasoned technology leader ready to take on CTO-level responsibilities in a strategic and high-impact role? This opportunity offers the chance to shape technical innovation and delivery within a premier organisation in the financial technology space.


As Principal Solutions Architect, you will take on responsibilities aligned with a CTO-level position, driving strategic leadership and technical implementation for enterprise-scale digital banking applications. You will be the go-to authority on technical vision, delivery oversight, and stakeholder engagement, ensuring seamless alignment between business objectives and technical solutions.


What You'll Do

  • Strategic Leadership (20%):
  • Act as a bridge between business and technology, aligning solutions with commercial and enterprise goals.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders to drive innovation and expand the organisation’s footprint across markets.
  • Engage in pre-sales activities, account development, and the presentation of innovative solutions to clients.


  • Technical Execution and Delivery (80%):
  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable, reliable enterprise systems.
  • Take ownership of a core banking program's technical delivery, managing architecture principles and hands-on guidance for a 50-person team.
  • Read and understand coding languages to ensure adherence to coding standards while focusing on architectural excellence.
  • Drive cloud-native initiatives using technologies like Azure, AWS, and advanced integration tools such as Kafka and Mulesoft.


  • CTO-Level Responsibilities:
  • Oversee cross-functional teams, including product, architecture, and development leads, ensuring collaborative success.
  • Present technical solutions confidently to clients and internal stakeholders, fostering trust and clarity.
  • Provide strategic input on technical direction while managing detailed implementation oversight for a cutting-edge digital banking program.


Your Background

  • A strong mix of technical fluency and strategic leadership, with a proven track record in large-scale enterprise banking applications.
  • Experience in commercial or retail banking and consultancy is highly desirable.
  • Hands-on development expertise transitioning into architecture, with deep knowledge of cloud technologies (Azure, AWS).
  • Exceptional communication skills, comfortable managing client interactions and presenting complex technical solutions.
