Information Technology Manager

Our client is looking for an Infrastructure Manager to join their growing team as part of their ongoing investment to move to an internal function. Working closeley with the IT Director and Head of Architecture this is a great opportunity to get involved in projects and leadership within a complex enterprise environment.
Salary: £58,000 + incredible pension
Location: Gloucester (3 days on site)
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and mentoring the IT team, fostering a collaborative and technically proficient environment.
- Ensuring the optimal performance of servers, networks, and systems with a focus on uptime and reliability.
- Defining and implementing policies for data backup, system uptime, and recovery, alongside regular monitoring.
- Managing performance testing and infrastructure monitoring to identify and resolve potential issues.
- Developing and maintaining robust security protocols to protect against cyber threats.
- Driving a culture of continuous improvement and cross-departmental collaboration.
The ideal candidate will bring a combination of technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a proactive approach to maintaining and improving IT infrastructure.
Experience
- Proven experience in networks, server management, cybersecurity, and cloud computing, including Azure and Azure Arc.
- A track record of managing physical and virtual servers to ensure performance and availability.
- Hands-on experience with data centre operations and cloud service integration.
Knowledge, Skills, and Understanding
- Strong technical skills in IT systems, hardware, software, and virtualisation technologies.
- In-depth knowledge of cloud infrastructure, disaster recovery, and configuration management.
- Familiarity with ITIL frameworks, network security protocols, and asset management.
- Excellent troubleshooting abilities and a hands-on approach to technical challenges.
- Strong project and budget management skills.
Qualifications
- A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CISSP, or ITIL are advantageous.
