Vertical Recruitment are working with one of the industry’s most sort-after Fire Engineering Consultancies based in London with an immediate need for a Principal/Associate Fire Engineer. The company has a proven track record of delivering advanced Fire Engineering services on a wide range of high-profile projects both in the UK and internationally. This excellent opportunity is due to sustained growth within the business and delivers a clear roadmap for career progression.


Candidates must have the following experience:

  • Over 8 years of relevant experience within Fire Engineering.
  • Degree Qualified.
  • A full member of the Institute of Fire Engineers, (CEng, MIFireE) would be desirable.
  • Developing expertise in delivering fire safety engineering solutions in a multi-disciplinary environment with solid experience in developing fire strategies, undertaking engineering analysis and applying performance-based designs
  • Ability to effectively guide, direct, delegate, discipline and motivate employees.
  • Familiar with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Demonstrated leadership, planning and practical solution skills.
  • Knowledge of CFD modelling.


Your role and responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

• Excellent report-writing skills.

  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills.
  • Demonstrable, relevant 'hands-on’ professional experience within fire engineering design and Significant experience of applying fire engineering in the design of buildings.
  • Project experience within the commercial, residential, education and healthcare markets is also advantageous.
  • Operational/financial accountability.
  • Knowledge of the UK market and approvals process.
  • A solid understanding of international fire engineering principles and standards, including NFPA and interaction with insurance companies would be advantages.
  • Ability to effectively manage resources to deliver project responsibilities on time, and to expectations
