We are a strategic creative business deeply engaged in the world of brands. We have 40 years of landmark work built on our guiding principle: "First win the eye, then the heart, then the mind."


Our major clients include JTI, Lindt, Campari, Ricola, Edrington, and Gallo, among others. We specialize in premium to super-premium products, though we do not consider ourselves a luxury brand.


We also work on identities for clients like St. Pancras, Gatwick, and La Grand Epicerie.

As our founding partners plan for the company’s future, we are transitioning to an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) this year to retain our independent spirit and status. We are ambitious about future growth while maintaining our creative reputation.


THE JOB


We are seeking a Design Director with experience in Consumer Packaging (CPG) and Branding to report to our Creative Directors.


The Design Director holds a key leadership position within our creative team. Your role involves inspiring the creative team, offering direction, and creating opportunities for development to help team members reach their full potential.


From a creative leadership perspective, you will guide the creative direction of brands, champion craft excellence, and promote the significance of "Brand First" through design that ensures brands get noticed and chosen. You will develop and maintain long-term client relationships by consistently delivering high-quality, strategically-led creative solutions.


RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Support the Creative Directors in realizing their creative vision and inspire creativity within your discipline
  • Maintain and enhance the current creative processes to deliver beautifully crafted and thought through designs that deliver to their briefs
  • Continuously encourage fresh thinking and help the team adopt new approaches and working methods
  • Ensure quality control of team output and adherence to schedules
  • Actively develop creative talent across levels, from junior to management
  • Participate in recruitment strategy and assist with interviews within your field of expertise
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues, clients, and third parties
  • Manage or lead project teams within your discipline


EXPERIENCE


  • Proven experience in a top branding, design, or creative studio
  • Experience leading projects for both big global clients and smaller new business
  • Demonstrable ability to build brand ideas across multiple touchpoints
  • Comfortable managing two or more designers
  • Confident in presentations and comfortable interacting with senior clients and internal teams
