Role Overview:

The Environmental and Sustainability Manager will spearhead the company’s environmental and sustainability initiatives. This pivotal role involves developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive strategies that align with the company’s goals. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with environmental regulations, lead innovative programmes, and foster a culture of sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategy Development: Craft and execute environmental and sustainability strategies, identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Programme Management: Lead and manage initiatives, monitoring and reporting on key performance indicators.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure adherence to environmental regulations, preparing reports for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal teams and engage with external stakeholders to enhance sustainability efforts.
  • Innovation and Improvement: Stay informed on industry trends, recommending and implementing innovative solutions.
  • Training and Education: Develop training programmes to educate employees on sustainability practices.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience in environmental and sustainability management in manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of relevant environmental regulations.
  • Proven track record in successful programme implementation.
  • Excellent project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Certification in sustainability (e.g., IEMA, BREEAM) is advantageous.
  • Awareness of quality systems such as AS9100 and IATF16949 is beneficial.
