About the Program

A major UK retail supermarket chain is undergoing an enterprise transformation to build its own cloud-based technology platform, moving away from its former parent organization. This involves migrating over 900 applications to the customer's new cloud platform. The transformation program, which began in 2021 with SAP as a key partner, offers the opportunity to work with blueprints of major SAP Retail processes and lead the process journey from the start.


Role Overview

The SAP CAR / POSDTA Functional Consultant will play a crucial role in driving workshops with business users, defining Business Process Documents (BPDs), and owning functional specifications. The consultant will be responsible for system design and configuration, as well as guiding and supporting quality assurance processes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead client conversations and conduct design workshops
  • Develop functional specifications and review enhancements for SAP CAR
  • Configure and customize SAP CAR / POSDTA systems
  • Create business process documents and functional specifications
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external third parties
  • Ensure system and process integrity, adhering to the project template
  • Perform root cause analysis and resolve defects
  • Support cutover, go-live, and post-go-live activities

Required Skills and Experience

  • 10-15 years of experience in SAP Retail, with a focus on CAR and POS Data Management
  • Proven experience in at least two full lifecycle implementations
  • Strong configuration knowledge in SAP CAR and POS Data analysis
  • Expertise in requirements gathering, system configuration, testing, and training
  • Ability to work independently and plan tasks effectively
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working in multicultural environments and cross-functional teams

  • Work Location: 3 days per week at client site in Leeds, UK
  • Team Structure: Part of a project team
