THE ROLE
This is a newly created role in our Technology team with a key focus on aiding Hush to develop, maintain and draw insights from business intelligence solutions consisting of Google Big Query (Data warehouse), Domo (Visualisations), Snaplogic (ELT), and DBT (Modelling). Reporting into our Head of Technology, playing a critical role in our small Data Engineering team of 2, you’ll have the opportunity to challenge the status quo, preparing ad-hoc analysis, supporting business users in self-serve operations mode and actively championing data-science use and robust data analysis across the organisation.
THE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with the business to prioritise and define data requirements into agreed priorities.
- Ensure the stable running of the data environment from a security and performance perspective.
- Support external partners and internal stakeholders with data to drive business initiatives.
- Creation and ongoing maintenance of reporting data models for use in BI reporting
- Maintenance of the reports in BI reporting tool.
- Help non-technical end users adopt a self-service mindset to reporting and providing guidance and best practise where necessary.
- Review data produced, analyse and provide actionable insights and opinion on data.
- Advocate for and facilitate technology education within the business helping stakeholders to better understand technology and become increasingly self-sufficient.
- Partner with business teams to support them in making data easily available and accessible and in making data-driven decisions.
- Co-own customer data and insights in collaboration with the Marketing teams.
- Apply advanced statistical and machine learning techniques, including clustering, regression analysis, and predictive modelling, to extract deeper insights from customer data.
- Build predictive models to forecast customer behaviour, including sales trends, churn prediction, and lifetime value projections.
- Utilise techniques like customer lifetime value (CLV) modelling and cohort analysis to provide a comprehensive view of customer behaviour.
- Champion a data-driven culture.
THE PERSON
- Strong communication skills; able to articulate complex technical topics for non-technical colleagues to understand and report on data activity progress.
- Excellent SQL and data modelling skills.
- Knowledge of at least one other programming language.
- Comprehensive technical experience in data warehousing, ETL and BI reporting technologies.
- Experience working with and administrating a modern BI platform, such as Looker, Qlik, Domo or Power BI.
- Experience of working with cloud data warehousing technology.
- Analytical skills; ability to review and advise on data extracted.
