VAT Manager/Senior Manager


Andersen LLP is the UK member firm of the Andersen Global network. We primarily provide a wide range of UK and US tax services to private clients and businesses and have a successful and growing indirect tax practice. We are currently looking for a VAT Manager or Senior Manager to join a rapidly expanding VAT team on a part or full-time basis to manage an ever-expanding portfolio of clients in providing VAT advisory and compliance services across a range of industry sectors.


The successful candidate will have the opportunity to further progress their career at Andersen.


Requirements:


  • Qualified CTA, ACA or equivalent with a minimum of 1-2 years PQE.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • A strong indirect tax (in particular VAT) technical knowledge and an appreciation of the interaction with other taxes.
  • An ability to connect complex tax technical issues with practical and commercial application.
  • The ability to apply VAT technical knowledge to identify VAT risks.
  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal) coupled with the ability to articulate complex tax issues in a simple manner to both tax and non-tax specialists.
  • Happy to lead “client facing” interactions.
  • Demonstrable skill at building and maintaining relationships with clients and colleagues within and outside the VAT team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with integrity, initiative and commitment.
  • Experience both in practice and industry helpful but not essential.


The Role:


  • The role is primarily VAT advisory, and you will assist clients in solving complex VAT technical issues across a wide variety of industry sectors.
  • As our advisory and structuring work often leads to annuity work, you will also be responsible for managing VAT compliance and VAT audits for clients.
  • Assistance with growing client relationships and developing new business for the team.
  • The nature of the work and the client base will mean that you will continue to build your tax technical skills as you work with a variety of clients across all business sectors.
  • The role will involve international work with other Andersen offices and overseas clients.
  • Cross disciplinary working with the other Andersen LLP teams e.g., Financial Reporting & Accounting, Corporate Tax, Private Client, Crypto & Digital Assets and Andersen Global network firms.
