About the Role

As Commercial Manager you will be supporting the Commercial Director in defining the global commercial strategy and executing this strategy on a regional basis in EMEA. You will help define which accounts to target, how to approach the market and help formulate the strategy for success. In addition, you will bring the commercial strategy to life by being an integral part of bid teams, negotiating commercial terms and conditions, setting price levels and challenging Account Managers. Finally, you will be responsible for Commercial Operations in the region, directing the local Bid Management and Sales Operations teams.

The Commercial Manager will be based in London or Amsterdam and will report to the Commercial Director.

Responsibilities

  • Setting commercial pricing for strategic new customer projects, taking ownership of the end-to-end price setting process in EMEA;
  • Take part in customer negotiations with regard to commercial terms and conditions assessing and managing commercial risks;
  • Key stakeholder for Sales Leaders and Account Managers on commercial related topics;
  • Delegate of Authority to the Commercial Director;
  • Coordinate approvals for price changes, credits and other financial impacts, as stakeholder to the finance function;
  • Prepare and present weekly trading updates to Regional Sales Leadership team, support in preparing Board level updates;
  • Support in defining and implementing commercial strategy together with the Commercial Director by identifying key acquisition accounts, setting price plans and driving improved win rates. Ensure commercial teams are aligned.

Experience and skills:

  • An academic education in Finance, Business, Economics or related fields
  • 5 – 10 years of relevant and proven experience in a Financial or Commercial role
  • Experience in forecasting and pipeline analysis as well as experience in negotiating and structuring deals with customers
  • Experience in Telecommunications is preferred
  • A dedicated business professional with strong communication ability and who is comfortable working with large Enterprise customers, within an international environment
  • Strong Commercial as well as Financial business sense, keen analytical capabilities and ability to make decisions and strong drive for execution
  • Strong business acumen and leadership skills, the ability to translate complex information into simple readable data and visualizations
  • Ability to operate at different levels and to build and maintain strong relationships
  • Collaborative, highly driven and enthusiastic, whilst maintaining a high level of integrity and honesty
  • Fluency in the English language, both written and verbal.
