The Company
My client is a successful privately-owned pharmaceutical company with a permanent position open for a senior microbiologst to join their analytical services department.
A medium sized award-winning pharmaceutical manufacturer, they have state of the art facilities and this presents a fantastic opportunity for a senior microbiologist continuing their career in the pharmaceutical industry.
The Opportunity
This opportunity is based within the analytical services department supporting the contract manufacturing team where you will be testing and monitoring the microbiological quality of pharmaceutical materials and raw materials. This includes unlicensed medicines, investigational medicinal products, and licensed products. Duties include:
- Plan, carry out and report validation and testing of non-sterile/sterile products including in-process and finished products covering unlicensed medicines, investigational medicinal products, and antibiotic bone cement licensed products
- Sterility test materials inside a gassed isolator by membrane filtration or direct inoculation
- Biological assays on antibiotics
- Endotoxin by KQCL
- Plan, perform (where appropriate) and report microbiological and physical monitoring of production facilities and equipment.
- Plan, carry out and report testing to support validation of sterile production facilities testing of materials and media fills
- Prepare, select and control the storage of microbiological culture media.
- Coordinate the investigation of out of specification results, preparation of resulting reports and liaise with QA.
- Preparation or review of standard operational procedures.
- To deputise for the Microbiology Team Leader, and where appropriate attend meetings, schedule testing, review data and liaise with other departments as necessary.
You will also take the lead on deviations and validations.
About You
You should demonstrate 5 years industrial microbiology experience in a pharmaceutical environment, with experience leading investigations and conducting validations.
