Position: M&E Construction Manager

Location: London, UK


We are working with one of London's most reputable, innovative, and quality-driven main contractors and they are looking for an M&E Construction Manager to join their team in London.


Overview:

The M&E Construction Manager will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the Mechanical and Electrical aspects of a mixed-use development project. This role requires a highly technical individual with an electrical bias and strong mechanical knowledge. The M&E Construction Manager will ensure that all M&E works are completed to the highest standards, within budget, and on schedule.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the M&E team, including subcontractors and engineers, to deliver all M&E services in line with project specifications.
  • Develop, update, and maintain the M&E project schedule, ensuring timely delivery of all milestones.
  • Provide technical leadership with a focus on electrical systems while maintaining strong oversight of mechanical systems.
  • Review and approve M&E designs, ensuring they meet the project’s technical requirements and are compliant with relevant codes and regulations.
  • Implement and oversee QA/QC procedures for all M&E installations, ensuring they meet the highest industry standards.
  • Ensure that all testing, commissioning, and handover of M&E systems are conducted thoroughly and documented properly.
  • Monitor M&E expenditures and manage cost variations, ensuring the project remains within budgetary constraints.
  • Ensure all M&E works comply with health and safety regulations, promoting a culture of safety on-site.
  • Address and resolve any M&E-related concerns or queries from stakeholders in a timely and professional manner.


Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Mechanical or Electrical Construction Manager, either with a degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in M&E management for either a main contractor or an M&E subcontractor. Strong electrical bias with good mechanical knowledge is essential.
  • Strong technical knowledge of M&E systems, particularly electrical systems, with solid mechanical understanding.
  • Proven ability to manage M&E works for large-scale projects.
  • Excellent project management, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in M&E design software, project management tools, and relevant building codes and regulations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
