About the role:

The Director of Programmes is a senior leadership position central to our business and project management operations, providing strategic guidance, leadership, and direction to ensure projects are aligned with company goals and successfully delivered. This role involves coordinating various programmes and project management activities, including resource allocation, planning, programme controls, reporting, and risk management. The aim is to create an environment where project managers and their teams can thrive. With a comprehensive view of the project portfolio, you are crucial in promoting efficiency, innovation, and continuous improvement within the PMO function. Your expertise not only ensures the successful completion of complex initiatives but also shapes our project management culture, embedding best practices into our organizational fabric. Additionally, you will possess commercial acumen and have experience in executing and delivering customer/supplier contracts.


Responsibilities

  • the overall management and performance of the entire business project portfolio, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives
  • the leadership and strategic direction on organisational change initiatives to enhance project delivery capabilities
  • and able to command the attention and respect of investors, customers, business partners and company executives
  • and leading the various functions of planning, programme controls, risk management, monitoring and reporting ensuring that projects are delivered to time, budget and specification
  • at leadership level, engaging, liaising and providing support to all stakeholders
  • with fresh ideas on strategy, business planning, and service delivery that will challenge normal practice
  • with contract management and contracts and have good negotiation skills
  • and sustaining an integrated, multi-cultural, collaborative and high performance team that anticipates and responds to the needs of the organisation and key stakeholders
  • improvement in the methods of working and best practice and alignment with FFL ethos
  • and promoting a collaborative approach to teamwork within a large, multi-disciplinary, multi stakeholder, culturally diverse project team
  • and developing the reputation of FFL while protecting our position at all times
  • for attracting and retention; managing resource allocation; the mentoring and development of the talent pool and potential future leaders

Qualifications/Accreditations

  • A background in major programme/project delivery e.g. rail, nuclear, aerospace, construction etc. Experience of telecoms industry would be beneficial
