We’re looking for an Digital Technical Architect to:
• work closely with cross-functional team members in a pod (cross-functional team) or crew to improve (digital) products and journeys iteratively and continuously in line with our Digital Principles and architecture goals
• support pods, crews, and streams in identifying and designing suitable architectures in different layers e.g., enterprise architecture, data architecture, solution architecture, technology architecture.
• syndicate architectures among pods, crews and streams and ensure these conform to architectural standards; resolve interdependencies and conflicts and maintain a technical roadmap and maintain overview of architectural gaps.
• manage and maintain requests for comments (RFCs), architectural decision records (ADRs) and risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies (RAIDs)
• collaborate with other architects to define architectural goals and standards and manage temporary solutions and technical debt remediation
• play an active role in consulting product owners on translating OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) into backlog items and include architectural improvements into the roadmap
• design solution architecture in alignment with enterprise standards and with Cloud first strategy
• lead and guide the Pod aligned development teams in high engineering excellence implementations
• effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders
• assess risks and issues in the solution design; develop concepts for remediation
• create technical feasible solution architectures to meet functional and nonfunctional business requirements
• ensure integration between the various systems are clearly documented to sufficient detail supporting distributed agile delivery
• work in matrix architect and technical environment within UBS and with external suppliers to ensure that the appropriate technology direction is defined for all solutions

Your team

You’ll be working in the Channels and Content Crew which is part of the Group Operations and Technology Office team in London. We are an international distributed team, spanning London/UK, Zurich / Switzerland, USA and Pune/India working for UBS Asset Management, with this role being based in Broadgate, London

Your expertise

• extensive experience (ideally 5-10 years+) in a IT technical solution architectural role
• good understanding of different Architectural and Design patterns
• experience and knowledge of Cloud, patterns, practices and technologies. Preferably hands on experience in different MS Azure Services
• ideally hands on experience in some of the following technologies / concepts preferable – Security, HTML5 \\ JavaScript frameworks, Web applications, SOA, Java / Java Services, ETL, Informatica, Oracle, Responsive, Mobile, Java apps, RESTful web services/ JSON, Content Management Systems (Adobe AEM), AI, Machine Learning, database technologies (SQL & no SQL)
• strategic thinker and excellent communicator, able to coach, lead and convince
• hands on experiences in all stages of IT projects in complex and demanding environments, broad knowledge of front-to-back banking processes
• ability to partner with other IT and business teams in the context of software delivery. Comfortable working in a team with diverse backgrounds and cultures in a distributed team environment
• inquisitive, able to challenge effectively and manage conflicting stakeholder needs, passionate about shaping the digital world of tomorrow
• must have proven track record in successfully architecting, building, releasing, and maintaining large-scale user centric Digital / Web enterprise platforms in a complex technology environment – preferably within financial services ideally a major Global Asset Manager or Investment Banking Group
• Understanding of standards, methods, techniques, templates as defined by common software development life cycle, spanning code source control to release workflow including CI CD
• Experience architecting and delivering global digital platforms and products using a range of agile frameworks, methodologies and tools, along with knowledge about which methods to apply when
• Ability to work in environments that are undergoing complex change, working in an iterative manner, evolving solutions and understanding how far to challenge and when
