Location: Location flexible with the ability to travel to London on a regular basis. The role will require some international travel.

Reports to: The Risk and Quality Director will report into the CLA Global CEO with a dotted line to the Chair of the Risk and Quality Committee.
Position summary:
CLA Global is a fast-growing international network of accounting and consulting firms. Since being founded in 2022, all aspects of Risk and Quality, including ensuring members meet and maintain high quality management standards and the highest ethical standards in the provision of international assignments, have been managed by the network’s Risk and Quality Committee, comprised of representatives from the network’s member firms. The network is now at a stage where a senior, full-time individual is required to join the Global Office to ensure the activities of the Risk and Quality Committee continue to be delivered in an efficient and effective manner.
Responsibilities:
Quality Monitoring
- Review the existing ongoing quality monitoring programme and work with the Risk and Quality Committee to enhance this where appropriate
- Take responsibility for delivery of the ongoing monitoring programme
- Agree and monitor actions plans prepared by member firms in response to reviews
New firm admittance due diligence
- Review the existing due diligence process and ensure this is aligned with the ongoing monitoring programme
- Manage the due diligence process for applicant member firms, liaising closely with the other members of the Global Office and due diligence reviewers
- Undertake some due diligence reviews for applicant member firms
Independence and conflict checking
- Work with the Risk and Quality Committee to review and enhance the network’s approach and policies relating to independence and conflict checking
- Manage the ongoing process for maintaining independence and checking for conflicts
Knowledge sharing
- Collate and share best practice and thought leadership from member firms in relation to audit, ethical, accounting and quality matters
- Organise events (virtual, hybrid and in-person) to share knowledge and best practice
- Design, implement and manage a technical service desk for smaller members to benefit from advice of larger members
External facing
- Manage the network’s upcoming entry into the Forum of Firms and attend relevant meetings on behalf of the network
- Collate responses from member firms in relation to technical consultations from standard setters and respond on behalf of CLA Global
Risk and Quality Committee
- Act as secretary to the Risk and Quality Committee
- Work with the Chair of the Committee to set agendas, create action plans and to prepare reports to the International Board of Directors
Audit development
- Work with the ‘Technology and Innovation’ and ‘Business Development and Markets’ Committees to develop the audit service line to target international assignments
Important competencies:
- Persuading and influencing – ability to communicate across all levels of seniority and across a range of cultures to achieve an appropriate outcome
- Credibility – to be recognised internally and externally as a leader in the profession
- Technical expertise – being able to use technical knowledge to develop practical solutions across multiple jurisdictions
- Communication – both internal and external, in writing and in presentations
- Networking – with technical and non-technical leaders in member firms and externally, within the profession
- Risk awareness – the ability to proactively identify the extent to which a particular set of circumstances may pose a risk to the network and develop and implement potential strategies to manage the risk, if appropriate, as well as the ability to challenge when necessary
- ‘No task too small’ – the network is young and growing and a willingness to carry out tasks at all levels is essential to ensure the Risk and Quality strategy is delivered
Required knowledge, skills and experience:
- ACA, CA, ACCA or equivalent qualification
- Strong working knowledge of International Standards on Auditing, ISQM, IFRS and the IESBA Code of Ethics
- Experience of leading quality reviews, ideally in an international environment
- Experience of managing risk, both identifying potential issues and developing appropriate responses
- Experience of managing relationships with key stakeholders in an organisation
- Excellent administrative and organizational skills
- Ability to work unsupervised and take a proactive approach to the role
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required, including presentation skills
- Ability to design and deliver presentations including technical training
- Proficient English language skills
