My client is recruiting a Lecturer in Games Design to join their Computing Team. A proud partner in the West of England Institute of Technology – which at the heart of this collaboration is the philosophy of increasing the opportunity for higher and university-level education in the highly sought industry growth areas of engineering, cyber and computing.


The purpose of this role is to deliver BTEC qualifications at Level 3 and the opportunity to teach HE courses including the top-up degree dependent upon level of experience.


Main Duties

  • To deliver and assess technical skills in Graphics and lens, text, experience, sound, moving image, and character and environment.
  • Motivate, inspire and lead apprentices in the achievement of their apprenticeship on time and to a high standard
  • Support, train and guide learners to develop their personal and professional attitudes, skills and abilities to have a positive impact in their employment
  • Contribute to the achievement of targets in respect of attendance, retention and achievement
  • To prepare Learners for End Point Assessment
  • To compile and maintain documentation in relation to the progress of learners against specified targets and provide evidence and reports in relation to this as required
  • To develop and take responsibility for the delivery of individual training plans tailored to candidate needs


Requirements

  • Knowledge of own specialist area is current and appropriate to the teaching context. Relevant industry experience.
  • PGCE, DTTLS or Certificate in Education (or willingness to complete).
  • Minimum GCSE grade C or equivalent Level 2 in English and mathematics.
  • Willingness to undertake Equality, Diversity and Safeguarding training.
  • Ideally, the experience of teaching BTEC-relevant subjects at different levels.
  • Ideally: Knowledge of own specialist area is current and appropriate to the teaching context.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in relevant subject
