Our client is a global leader in the energy trading sector, embarking on a significant transformation to enhance their operational and technical capabilities. They are seeking a dynamic Head of InfoSec to establish and lead a dedicated information security function within their high-performing trading team.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to design and implement robust InfoSec practices and frameworks, ensuring the organisation remains at the forefront of innovation and compliance in a rapidly evolving industry.
Role Overview
As the Head of InfoSec, you will be responsible for managing and advancing the organisation’s technical security and cyber risk landscape. You will develop and implement strategies to address identified gaps in governance, architecture, and risk management. Collaborating closely with senior leadership, this role will ensure compliance with industry standards and emerging regulatory frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Security Leadership
- Design and implement secure architectures for Azure and AWS cloud environments, including network segmentation, identity and access management (IAM), and application security.
- Configure and oversee cloud security services such as Azure Active Directory, Azure Sentinel, AWS IAM, CloudTrail, and GuardDuty.
- Ensure all security designs align with industry standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, SOC 2) and organisational policies.
Cloud Security Governance and Compliance
- Develop and enforce security policies for cloud-based services to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Implement monitoring solutions to address data protection, threat detection, and incident response for Azure and AWS environments.
Incident Response and Threat Management
- Deploy advanced threat detection and management tools, leveraging Azure Sentinel, AWS GuardDuty, and Security Center.
- Proactively manage threat intelligence and respond to emerging security risks.
Collaboration and Training
- Provide training and awareness programs focused on secure cloud usage and InfoSec best practices.
- Collaborate with DevOps and IT teams to integrate security into the CI/CD pipeline across cloud environments.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on InfoSec and cloud security in cross-departmental projects.
General Responsibilities
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks through vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
- Develop robust reporting mechanisms using tools like Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, and AWS CloudWatch.
- Establish and maintain best practices for architecture governance and secure interface design.
Qualifications and Experience
- Extensive experience in information security and cyber risk management, ideally within trading or high-pressure environments.
- Proven expertise in cloud security architecture and frameworks (Azure and AWS).
- Hands-on experience with vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks, such as NIS2, GDPR, and SOC 2.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps practices, securing CI/CD pipelines, and implementing security controls.
- Certifications like CISSP, CISM, or CISA are highly desirable.
