Our client specialises in providing new-build family homes for rent in the UK. Now private equity backed by one of the largest and most reputable private equity houses, our client is doing well and in growth mode, and consequently needs to expand their legal team.

We are looking for a Paralegal with a minimum of 3 years' experience in real estate/commercial property to report to, and work closely with, the General Counsel and wider business on a broad range of legal matters.

For the right candidate, the General Counsel is willing to support the Paralegal through a path to qualification, if that is something the candidate is looking for.

What will the role involve?

  • Provide legal advice on property transactions such as acquisitions, disposals, refinancing and residential tenancies;
  • Draft, review and negotiate a variety of contracts and agreements across the entire business;
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, making sure the company adheres to industry standards and best practices;
  • Collaborate with, and provide legal guidance and support to. other internal departments such as Finance, Acquisitions, Lettings and Property Management;
  • Represent legal in meetings with investors, developers and other 3rd parties.

What technical skill-sets are we looking for?

  • Law degree or equivalent legal qualification;
  • 3 years+ experience in real estate (commercial or resi) or commercial property;
  • Ideally you will have gained some of this experience from an in-house role;
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills.

What softer skill-sets are we looking for?

  • Strong communication skills;
  • Solid organisational skills combined with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively;
  • To be able to work in a fast-paced environment;
  • Someone who 'can roll their sleeves up' and get involved, be pragmatic;
  • Always working with integrity and professionalism.
