Role Overview
The Admissions Officer will play a key role in managing and supporting all aspects of the student admissions process. This includes handling applications, conducting eligibility checks, liaising with applicants, and ensuring a smooth transition for students from application to enrolment. The ideal candidate will be organised, customer-focused, and capable of providing an exceptional level of service to both prospective students and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and evaluate student applications in accordance with admissions policies and criteria.
- Conduct eligibility checks, including qualification and identity verification, and maintain accurate records.
- Communicate effectively with applicants, guiding them through each stage of the admissions process.
- Coordinate admissions interviews and assessments, including scheduling and liaising with academic staff.
- Respond promptly and professionally to enquiries from prospective students and parents via phone, email, and in person.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure a seamless enrolment process for new students.
- Update and maintain the admissions database to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
- Assist in developing and implementing admissions events and open days.
- Support the wider admissions and marketing team with administrative tasks as required.
Key Skills and Competencies
- Strong organisational skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage a varied workload and meet deadlines.
- A customer-focused approach, with the ability to provide high-quality service to all stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience using admissions or CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, SIMS) is preferred.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Prior experience in admissions, customer service, or administration within an educational or similar environment is desirable.
- Knowledge of the UK education system is advantageous.
