As Production Manager, you will lead a team of 6 colleagues, our selective brush plating experts based at our SIFCO ASC, Bromsgrove, UK site. You will guide the team to deliver a world leading Contract Service and Manufacturing, serving our customers in the aerospace, oil & gas and other related engineering sectors. A key role to ensure we continue to exceed customer expectations.
What will you do?
- Lead plating technicians and production colleagues to ensure that operations are performed in accordance with company procedures, industry standards and customer requirements. Assign personnel to jobs according to priorities, complexities and skills of individual technicians ensuring the timely, efficient and effective completion of customer orders.
- Provide a bridge between production and other areas, assisting all parties in achieving targets and providing solutions where needed.
- Establish and maintain liaison with relevant colleagues or customer representatives to help resolve any enquiries that arise and ensure an excellent customer service level.
- Interpret specifications, blueprints, customer requirements and work orders to provide for accurate process information and support for customer quotations.
- Co-ordinate and support production and/or subcontract services such as pre & post grinding, additional tooling, inspection such as measurement and NDT testing, scales calibration, loler inspections, system audits, etc.
- Maintain housekeeping of all site areas, workshop, production, office, communal, etc, to a high standard ensuring they conform to EHS requirements. Ensure proper maintenance planning so all equipment is kept in safe and effective working order.
- Support Quality Systems Coordinator to ensure the company attains and maintains all quality accreditations by ensuring these systems are adhered to by all departments.
- Support Purchasing with technical requirements of company needs from suppliers.
- Co-ordinate manufacturing for optimal stock rotation, expiration, stock levels, maintenance, etc.
- Lead PDR’s, development plans and all team development and engagement related matters.
- Foster and ensure a continuous process improvement culture in all areas.
What do we look for?
- GCSE / A level or equivalent education
- 5 years previous experience, in a production team management role within a related industry. We are looking for a leader who can be empowered to take decisions autonomously aligned with the company strategy.
- Knowledge of local legislation and regulations.
- Adequate knowledge of financials
- Main soft skills: analytical, result oriented, creative, flexible, team player and people leader.
- Must have excellent communication abilities and is fluent in English, (verbal and writing).
