Empress Talent is supporting a valued client on their search for a Technical Support Engineer to join their fantastic team, reporting into the Head of Sales and Marketing.

This is a full-time position including but not limited to the following job responsibilities:

  • Technical Support
  • UK & European business support – provide extensive technical support and backup to UK & European distributor network – via phone, email and in person - visiting distributors, training staff and attending joint customer visits
  • Technical service projects and supportive technical data generation, developing and implementing testing programs
  • Maintaining and populating central knowledge database for product and application information which can be easily accessed by staff
  • Updating, populating and maintaining the company's master data file
  • Availability for site visits to support internal sales staff technically
  • Manning technical helpline telephone and tech.support inbox
  • Updating CRM database, forwarding sales leads to relevant salespeople and distributors
  • Preparation of presentations and materials
  • Hosting webinars and training sessions and hands-on demonstrations
  • Handling of product quality complaints
  • Exhibition stand manning as required
  • Assistance in promotional video filming activities

Quality Control

  • Arrange QC cover to ensure adequate coverage on days that the QC technician is unavailable, and cover during sickness or holidays

Document Control

  • Creation and control of technical datasheets
  • Writing of technical articles and product PR in collaboration with marketing department
  • Technical content creation for blog, brochures, distributor website etc. supporting marketing activities
  • Creation of case studies, application profiles and product sales tools

Business Innovation

  • Identify and attend relevant conferences and exhibitions
  • Identify and attend relevant training courses to enhance skills

General

  • Housekeeping audits
  • Cleanliness & tidiness of working environment and site
  • Accident free working

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Science-based degree, engineering background, good working knowledge of MS Office suite
  • Full driving license
