Summary of Position

We are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Business Development Specialist with extensive knowledge in inland survey, hydrography, environmental monitoring, and maritime construction. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in driving business growth by identifying and cultivating strategic partnerships, developing new markets, and creating opportunities for our state-of-the-art USV solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Market Development and Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Establish and nurture relationships with key authorities and operators in Inland Waterways/Infrastructure, as well as Federal engineering and infrastructure agencies. Collaborate closely to understand their specific operational challenges and introduce tailored USV solutions.
  • Foster partnerships with Hydrographic Surveying and Mapping companies, providing them with innovative USV technology to enhance their surveying capabilities.
  • Attend and exhibit at Survey tradeshows and conferences.
  • Arrange USV product demonstrations.
  • Prepare technical and commercial proposals for USV sales and rentals

Environmental Monitoring and Compliance Market Penetration:

o Target Federal and municipality Environmental and Natural Resources Agencies to address their unique requirements for precise environmental data collection. Customize USV solutions to ensure compliance and enhance monitoring efficiency.

o Develop strong partnerships with Upstream Oil and Gas facilities, Environmental Consulting Firms, and

Water Utility Companies, offering comprehensive USV solutions that optimize environmental monitoring processes and compliance.

Oceanographic Research and Academic Collaborations:

o Forge collaborative relationships with Coastal/Marine universities, Marine Labs, and Research institutes. Understand their specific research objectives and showcase how our USV technology can revolutionize data collection and analysis in marine environments.

o Engage with Oceanographic Research Institutions and Agencies, positioning our USV solutions as valuable assets for cutting-edge research initiatives.

Nurturing Existing Rental Customers:

o Cultivate and expand long-term relationships with existing rental customers in the Oil and Gas and Renewables sectors. Ensure they are fully aware of our comprehensive USV offerings, providing them with tailored solutions to enhance their operational efficiency.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Oceanography, Environmental Science, or a related field. Advanced degree is a plus.
  • Proven track record in business development or sales within the maritime industry, with a focus on unmanned surface vessels.
  • In-depth knowledge of inland survey, hydrography, environmental monitoring, and maritime construction applications.
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to understand and communicate complex technical concepts.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, networking, and research capabilities.
  • Highly motivated and dynamic individual with a focus on quality, commitment, and customer service. Empathetic to specific customer needs.
  • Adaptable to market conditions and setbacks – resilient with a positive attitude to inspire team
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
  • CRM systems (a plus)
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 (a plus)
