Effluent Plant Process Technician

Vale's Clydach Refinery, one of the world's oldest and most respected nickel refineries, is seeking a Effluent Plant Process Technician to join our team. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to our commitment to high-quality production and sustainable practices in a dynamic work environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and operate computerized control systems for wastewater treatment
  • Ensure plant processes operate within regulated parameters
  • Conduct routine inspections and troubleshoot process issues
  • Make process control decisions and adjust chemical feed rates
  • Maintain facility logs, databases, and generate reports

Qualifications:

  • Completed Craft or Process Apprenticeship
  • Minimum BTEC National Certificate in Engineering or Process Operations (or equivalent)
  • Strong IT literacy and proficiency in Microsoft packages

Ideal Candidate:

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in process plant operations or maintenance
  • Commitment to safety and continuous improvement
  • Ability to work independently and handle emergencies calmly
  • Strong flexibility to adapt to changing operational needs
  • Previous experience of working in a water treatment plant would be desirable
