Job Title: Project Engineer

Location: Northamptonshire

Salary: £45,000 D.O.E


A leading engineering company seeking a skilled Project Engineer to join their team. You will be responsible for delivering complex projects from design through to commissioning, with a focus on system layout, project execution, and continuous improvement.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design & Engineering: Create 3D/2D GA drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD, integrating in-house and third-party equipment for optimized layouts.
  • Project Execution: Manage the engineering development of projects, including detailed design, BOM creation, and customer liaison. Support installation and commissioning.
  • Continuous Improvement: Analyze completed projects to enhance design processes, costings, and competitiveness.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Sales, Manufacturing, and Project teams to ensure the successful delivery of each project.


Required Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in sheet metal and fabricated product design.
  • Proficiency in 3D & 2D CAD Software.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical engineering.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • HNC or equivalent qualification in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or related field.


Desirable:

  • Experience with special purpose machinery (conveyors) and recycling equipment.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
