Insight Investment is looking for a Developer to join the Individual Retirement Solutions team in Manchester. As a full-stack developer, you will work alongside the existing team to deliver software that allows financial advisors to implement Insight’s Retirement Pathway solution.


Role Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the technology efforts for the Individual Retirement Solutions team, an internal start-up that is responsible for building the future of the company
  • Current priority: build and launch v1.0 of the Retirement Pathway app, a consumer-grade software solution for independent Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs) in the U.S.
  • Front-end for financial advisors to help their clients (React)
  • Back-end .NET API and database that represent existing investment logic developed by Insight
  • Integrations with third-party financial advisor tools (custodians, financial planning tools, trading/rebalancing systems, etc.)
  • Data integrations (bi-directional)
  • Single sign on (SSO) integration
  • Work closely with other members of the Individual Retirement Solutions team to understand the logic and rationale behind the Retirement Pathway
  • Be responsible for all technology aspects of the app, including future enhancements
  • Participate and contribute to the go-to-market strategy for this new business line
  • Contribute to all future releases, apps and other technology development with the team


Experience Required

  • Experience working on consumer facing web applications
  • C# and .NET
  • Python
  • CI/CD pipelines with TeamCity
  • Fundamentals and approaches: OOP, SOLID principles, TDD/BDD/ATDD
  • DVCS with Git
  • Stand by software engineering principles around quality and doing things the right way
  • Experience with agile / similar iterative development processes
  • Takes initiative and ownership over outcomes
  • Ability to collaborate with existing technology teams, while delivering outcomes for internal ‘startup’
  • Intellectual curiosity and constant desire to improve both technical and domain knowledge
