Role: Area Sales Manager

Location: Remote (60 / 70% travel)

Salary: £50,000 - £75,000

I am working with a leading construction and engineering firm that specializes in structural metal technology. With a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects, I am looking for a driven and experienced Area Sales Manager to generate profitable sales growth through development of existing customer relationships and new business opportunities within your designated area.

Job Summary:

As a Senior Sales Account Manager, you will lead the commercial activities to expand market presence while preserving strong contractual relationships with existing customers. Take ownership of revenue and margin growth as the Group advances its strategic expansion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Market Development & Strategy: Identify target markets and key accounts that align with the business plan and overall strategic objectives.
  • Sales Growth & Budget Management: Take responsibility for the sales budget, achieving annual growth in sales volume, value, and profit.
  • Pricing & Margin Management: Execute pricing policies, ensuring price movements are managed effectively and margin levels are clearly understood across all product lines.
  • Commercial Reporting & Forecasting: Provide detailed commercial reports as required by senior management and the National Sales Manager. Support quarterly reviews, sales budgeting, and reforecasting processes.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Liaise with technical and operational teams to assess the viability of new product sections, manage lead times, coordinate deliveries, and ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Marketing & Business Development: Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure smooth handover and coordination of key business development projects.
  • Market Analysis & Risk Management: Conduct comprehensive market analysis to identify new business opportunities and potential threats. Develop strategies and action plans to mitigate risks and capitalize on emerging opportunities.

Experiences:

  • Experience in key customer management within the Construction market.
  • Track record of driving revenue growth with managing multimillion pound sales region.
  • An in-depth understanding of company finances and the ability to leverage financial insights for strategic decision-making.
  • Minimum of 5 years commercial leadership experience.
