I am partnered with a Mechanical and Electrical sub-contractor providing services across all sectors of the construction industry including Industrial, Logistics, Food, Pharmaceutical, Data Centre, Mining, Healthcare, Commercial, Hotel & Leisure, High-End Residential, Public, and Energy. They are seeking an Electrical Estimator to join their team on an exciting new project based in Wolverhampton, England.


About the Role:

As an Electrical Estimator you will play a crucial role in the success of projects from pre-tender to post-tender stages. You’ll be responsible for preparing precise and timely estimates, ensuring that each tender is completed consistently and in line with company’s procedures. Your work will directly impact the optimisation of commercial advantages and deliver high-quality results to clients.


Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and manage estimates throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
  • Review completed projects to evaluate their alignment with budgetary goals.
  • Conduct detailed take-offs and input data into our estimating software to fully understand project costs.
  • Vet and process supplier and subcontractor enquiries to meet deadlines and project specifications.
  • Collaborate with specialist subcontractors, validating and assessing their quotations.
  • Propose product substitutions and value engineering options to enhance project outcomes.
  • Stay informed on market trends, pricing levels, and competition to ensure competitive and relevant estimates.


Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator or in preparing electrical estimates.
  • Knowledge of electrical installations is an advantage, though not essential.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of Health and Safety requirements.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be based in the UK.
