The purpose of your role in Our Co-op

As a Design Lead, your expertise in creative direction and design execution will be instrumental in shaping and delivering high-quality visual outputs. You will oversee the full design process, ensuring projects meet strategic objectives while maintaining brand consistency and innovation. By managing workflows, mentoring junior designers, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, you will drive efficiency and elevate the creative impact of the studio. Your leadership will help maintain a dynamic, high-performing team that consistently delivers engaging and effective design solutions.

You'll become part of a skilled, engaged, and diverse team, supporting our co-op in our collective vision to be the best at what we do in the East of England.

What you will be working on at Our Co-op

Lead creative direction across all studio projects

  • Define and drive the creative vision for all design outputs, ensuring alignment with business objectives and brand guidelines.
  • Maintain high-quality execution across print, digital, and motion graphics while fostering innovation within the team.

Oversee the design process from concept to final production

  • Manage the end-to-end creative process, from briefing and ideation to final execution and delivery.
  • Ensure all assets are fit for purpose, meet stakeholder expectations, and adhere to best practices across different formats and channels.

Mentor and support junior designers

  • Provide structured guidance, training, and feedback to develop team members' skills and confidence.
  • Foster a collaborative studio environment that encourages continuous learning and professional growth.

Manage studio workflow and prioritisation

  • Oversee the allocation of projects, ensuring workloads are balanced, deadlines are met, and creative quality is maintained.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to understand priorities and adjust project timelines where necessary.

Track and report on studio hours and budget management

  • Monitor the utilisation of studio hours, identifying efficiencies and areas for improvement.
  • Manage software and hardware budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions that support the creative output of the team.
