By providing turnkey offerings integrating cutting-edge technology with customised design, Duo strives to be the partner of choice for clients seeking excellence in aggregate and waste product processing.


The Company specialise in the groundworks construction and quarrying sectors, across the UK and Ireland. Duo are already involved in interesting projects like the HS2 rail link and M55 motorway expansion, in addition to £ multimillion turnkey quarrying projects. New diverse and challenging projects are coming in the work pipeline

Flexibility to work anywhere - Working as part of a small team both in the Coventry office, from your home and on site as required. Competitive rate of pay, £5000pa car allowance or company vehicle , laptop, mobile phone and other employee benefits. Must be willing to travel to different site projects works as required.


Salary - £40 -50K depending on experience.



Key Post Responsibilities:

As the Electrical Project Engineer for Duo’s projects, you will be instrumental in translating electrical designs into executable projects, ensuring efficient and cost-effective implementation and commissioning. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams and collaborate with various divisional stakeholders to ensure our solutions align with client requirements, adhere to safety standards, maintain quality, meet project timelines, and are commercially sustainable. Your expertise and dedication will be pivotal in further elevating our reputation as an industry leader in industrial electrical design and build installations.


  • Project Planning and Scoping:
  • Collaborate with electrical designers to convert conceptual designs into practical, implementable solutions.
  • Analyse 3D models of industrial facilities to identify and group electrical assets, optimising cable routing while reducing costs.
  • Develop comprehensive cable and termination schedules from wiring schematics to facilitate implementation processes.
  • Create and manage progress trackers to monitor and report on project progress.
  • Oversee the commissioning of electrical installations, ensuring a seamless transition to full production prior to client handover.
  • Identify and resolve potential issues by leveraging extensive knowledge across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automation disciplines.
  • Prepare quotations for additional project works as required.


  • Solution/Departmental Development:
  • Engage closely with cross-functional engineering and design teams to craft integrated electrical solutions that precisely align with client requirements and adhere to industry regulations and corporate best practices.
  • Remain vigilant about industry trends, proactively integrating new and upcoming technologies into Duo’s equipment designs.
  • Work with Duo’s sustainability lead to ensure green and sustainable solutions are at the forefront of all project design philosophy.
  • Understand and communicate industry trends toward Duo’s vision of future technology adoption, adding insight into the divisional direction for the future.


  • Stakeholder Management:
  • Collaborate effectively with designers, maintenance and installation teams, and clients to ensure strong engagement from all parties.
  • Provide regular project updates, communicating applicable milestone progress to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, including electrical engineers, technicians, contractors, and subcontractors.


  • Health, Safety, and Quality Assurance:
  • Uphold and promote Duo’s safety-first culture, engaging with health and safety protocols across all project sites.
  • Ensure the implementation of Duo’s quality assurance processes across all working ranges to deliver high-quality, industry-leading electrical solutions.


  • Value Engineering and Reporting
  • Assist in value engineering of projects, identifying potential cost overruns, and enacting pre-emptive measures for cost management.
  • Support project procurement timelines, aligning value-centric milestones to optimise project and business cash flow.
  • Identify and assess potential risks associated with all projects, developing effective risk mitigation strategies to minimise their impact on project execution.
  • Assist with the evaluation of change requests and their impact on project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Ensure thorough documentation of project activities, including progress reports, programme adherence, and daily/weekly reporting against milestone activities.


  • Suggested Qualifications and Skills:
  • While specific qualifications are not mandatory, a broad and deep knowledge base acquired through a varied career path is essential.
  • Extensive experience in electrical engineering, with a proven track record in project execution and commissioning.
  • Operational and maintenance engineering background, with significant experience in successful plant improvements.
  • Ability to understand machinery operations without direct observation and identify process bottlenecks to suggest and implement improvements.
  • Strong analytical skills, with proficiency in interpreting and working with 3D models and design schematics.
  • Hands-on experience with commissioning electrical installations and facilitating the transition to full production.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively liaising with designers, maintenance teams, and stakeholders.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft office packages to include Excel, Project etc.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to make informed decisions under pressure
  • Experience across multiple engineering disciplines is essential – to include electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automation.
  • Experience in material handling, heavy industrial machinery, or similar sectors would be advantageous.


  • Location and Travel
  • The role is hybrid requiring nationwide travel, necessitating site visits to various locations across the UK.
  • Visits to our main offices in Coventry, manufacturing facility in Stoke, supply chain partners, and other locations as required.
  • A company vehicle will be provided, complete with a fuel card.
