Purpose

The purpose of this position is to deliver the project KPI’s for Delivery, Quality, Safety, Cost and Customer Satisfaction through the effective implementation of the Project Execution Plan, Project Quality Plan and associated procedures.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Promotion of safety functions and procedures; participate in safety improvement incentives
  • Preparation and issuance of technical and contract correspondence, compilation of requisite records and claim submissions to validate claims both against client and subcontractors and protection of employer’s rights and entitlements against incoming claims for mechanical works
  • Pre-qualification and short-listing of contractors and consultants
  • Assist in bid evaluation and awarding of contracts
  • Involvement in pre-construction negotiations
  • Assist with the planning, preparation and development of a Site Budget and of accounting
  • Develop / Coordinate sub-contracting strategy and sub-contracts for bid/tender
  • Liase and negotiate with subcontractors on matters of progress, coordination, entitlement and interpretation of contract documents
  • Review, evaluate and approve of contract payments and exchange orders
  • Conduct meetings with clients, contractors and design consultants to clarify design issues and interfaces
  • Conduct regular site inspections and site meetings to determine the status of the projects, to provide directions, to coordinate the works and to solve technical problems
  • Monitor the time schedule and supervise the construction works
  • Apply QA / QC requirements according field quality program, I&T programs and I&T plans
  • Ensure that work follows applicable codes, statutory regulations and specifications
  • Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are prepared for all relevant tasks
  • Ensure that construction, erection completion documentation and turnover packages are prepared and submitted in a timely manner by Superintendents / Supervisors
  • Provide a weekly report documenting problems, changes, schedule modifications, performance etc.
  • Apply NCR and other relevant tools
  • Ensure properly set up claim management
  • Q-document – Method Statements / Risk Assessments
  • Open item lists / punch lists
  • Training and development for all discipline personnel
  • Experience feedback for improvement
  • Ensure safety functions are integrated into all aspects of work
  • Responsible for on-site administration of subcontractors and direct hired labour
  • Advise senior project team members on strategy, to ensure project progression
  • Coordinate I&C works to avoid conflicts and minimize delays whilst ensuring the efficient, cost-effective and safe completion of the projects
  • Management of budgets, claims negotiation and settlements
  • Identify programme requirements, plan facilities in cooperation with balance of construction team members
  • Develop, monitor and update schedules
  • Coordinate the development of System Turnover Packages
