Position: Head of Business and Economics


This secondary school are seeking an exceptional and enthusiastic Head of Business and Economics to lead our dynamic department and deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences to our students starting in September. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced educator with a passion for Business and Economics and a desire to make a positive impact in a supportive and aspirational school community.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Business and Economics department, providing strategic direction and effective leadership to ensure the delivery of outstanding teaching and learning experiences
  • Develop and implement a challenging and engaging curriculum that meets the needs of all students and promotes academic excellence and achievement
  • Inspire and motivate students to excel in their studies, fostering a love of learning and an appreciation for Business and Economics in the wider world
  • Support the professional development of department staff, providing guidance, support, and opportunities for growth and reflection
  • Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and external stakeholders, promoting a collaborative and inclusive school community
  • Contribute to the wider leadership and management of the school, participating in strategic planning, policy development, and school improvement initiatives

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching Business and Economics at secondary level
  • Proven track record of successful teaching and leadership in Business and Economics, with the ability to inspire and motivate students and colleagues
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Business and Economics, with the ability to deliver engaging and challenging lessons that meet the needs of all students
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice, with a desire to contribute to the wider life of the school community
