Job Title: Temporary Christmas Holiday Private Chef (live-out, family can provide local hotel)

Reporting to: The Principals

Location: Oxfordshire, England

Contract Dates: December 23rd through December 26th; 22nd half/full day for travel and set up as needed; 23rd-25th full days, 26th half day

Hours: Flexible on start time and will likely end by 9/9:30pm each day, however, must be flexible to stay later if needed

Salary: £1,000+ per day DOE

The Family: Family of 12

The Staff: A housekeeper who can be tasked with serving, or the chef is welcome to bring an additional aide if needed


The Role

The private chef will cook family style lunches and dinners for an American/ British family of approx. 12, during the Christmas holiday period. December 22nd will be a travel and prep day. They will then cook from December 23rd through December 26th. All meals should be family style, including on Christmas day (likely only one meal needed on 25th). Meals should be healthy, with an overall European/ British palate. There are no known dietary restrictions or food allergies. This can be discussed further upon interviewing with the principals. The chef must be personable and be able to cope in a busy family Christmas environment. The family is offering local hotel accommodation, if needed.

Cooking & Kitchen

Cooking lunches and dinners

Purchasing groceries and necessary ingredients for these meals

Making healthy meals and snacks for the adults and children

Tidying the kitchen after meal preparation and ensuring all food prep (e.g. equipment, ingredients, etc.) is stored in the appropriate location and nothing is left out

Minimizing waste and recycling where possible

Ensuring the refrigerator and cupboards are kept clean and organized and that unused food items are discarded


Requirements

  • Legally able to work within the United Kingdom
  • Excellent professional references required
  • Must be able to drive, with own car for groceries etc.
  • Must have or be happy to undertake a DBS
  • Happy to sign a confidentiality and non-disclosure agreement before starting work
