Job Description

What will you be doing?

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team in North Devon, 3 days per week. The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a strong background in electrical wiring design, power management systems, power routing, and cable management. Previous experience in the defence sector is highly preferable. The candidate ideal must be SC clearable (Been in the UK for 5 years or more, and not left for 3 months or more at any one time).

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Design and develop electrical wiring systems for naval platforms.
  • Manage power management and routing systems to ensure efficient and reliable operation.
  • Oversee cable management, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical systems into naval platforms.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
  • Conduct detailed analysis and troubleshooting of electrical systems.
  • Prepare technical documentation, including specifications, reports, and user manuals.

Qualifications

Experience, skills and qualifications required:

  • Minimum of 4 years of engineering experience with a background in electrical.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. (Master's Preferred)
  • Proven experience in electrical wiring design, power management systems, power routing, and cable management.
  • Previous experience in the defence sector is preferred. (Not mandatory)
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in using electrical design software's.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • SC clearable (Security Check clearance).
