Data Privacy Recruitment is a specialist candidate search and interim recruitment solutions company dedicated to international Data Privacy & Protection and including AI Governance. Data Privacy & Protection Associates

Joining the DPR Associate Team is an opportunity to rapidly build your Data Privacy & Protection skills and experience.

Providing support to Data Protection teams, you will be part of a high performing Data Privacy & Protection contracting team on a path for success.

You will be passionate about your career progression in privacy & data protection and have the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced quick learning contract assignment environment.

Ideally suited to talented data privacy & protection professionals early in their career who are driven and self-motivated to learn and be a proactive team player.

This will be an opportunity to work on private, public and charity sector contract assignments for both national and international organisations. Data protection/privacy teams ranging from supporting standalone DPOs to large scale global data protection/privacy teams.

Hybrid working or fully remote (optional and depending on your location)

Contact assignments could include any number of the below service areas and will be aligned with your skills and experience as well as providing lots of opportunity for professional development.

  • Supporting organisations with Data Subject Rights (DSARs)
  • Assisting with Data Protection assessments and audits
  • Supporting Data Protection policy writing, reviews and editing
  • Supporting the investigation of Data Breaches
  • Assisting with International Data Transfers
  • Involvement with AI Data Processing Requests
  • Involvement with Data Handling policies, standards, and guidelines
  • Working with and coordinating with Data Governance colleagues
  • Supporting the preparation and delivery of Data Privacy & Protection training and awareness
  • Involvement with Employee Privacy Notices
  • Supporting stakeholders with compliant uses of personal data and DPIA (Data Protection Impact Assessment) processes
  • Supporting with Records Of Processing Activity (RoPA)
  • Coordinating the Data Protection email inbox, dealing with and directing enquiries
  • OneTrust administration/management at various levels of responsibility depending on experience
  • Coordinating activities and communications with internal stakeholders/teams (including IT, Legal, Risk, Governance, Compliance and Cyber/Information Security)
  • Coordinating and supporting Data Protection Champions
  • Customer communication for Data Protection related queries
  • General and wide-ranging assistance for Data Protection Officers

Essential skills and personal attributes

  • Highly self-motivated to proactively build your knowledge, experience within Data Privacy & Protection
  • Organised and adaptable so well suited to quickly getting to grips with new contract assignments
  • Able to demonstrate a clear understanding of Data Protection legislation GDPR / Data Protection Act 2018
  • Proven ability to learn rapidly and apply new concepts in a practical, real-world setting
  • Excellent understanding of Microsoft Office suite applications
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to effectively and quickly build working relationships in a team and to engage at all levels outside of your own team
  • Graduate / Postgraduate in a related subject (Legal, Information Security or Compliance/Risk)
  • Proven ability and drive to conduct legal & other independent research

Highly desirable

  • To have a recognised data protection certification such as IAPP certifications CIPP/e or CIPM. BSI GDPR Foundation and/or GDPR Practitioner
  • OneTrust knowledge/experience

Great to have but not essential

  • Graduate / Post Graduate degree in Data Protection/Privacy and AI or Data Governance
  • OneTrust experience, training and certifications
  • Previous experience working in contract roles or a consultancy / professional services environment
  • Previous experience working for a law firm team with experience and subject matter expertise in privacy/data protection
  • Previous experience working within large/global corporate environments
