AI VIVO is a Cambridge, UK-based company that uniquely provides Organome platform technology as an entirely new drug discovery paradigm. The platform enables drug discovery at organ level and is empowered by proprietary generative AI capabilities for organ level mechanism discovery and novel drug design with higher chance of clinical success.
We are looking for an experienced senior AI/ML scientist to join AI VIVO. You will join an interdisciplinary team of life scientists, computer scientists, and mathematicians and work closely with leading experts in AI for biology field including our scientific co-founder, Mo Lotfollahi. We all learn from each other and work together in supporting AI VIVO's mission to enable organism level drug discovery.
In this role, you will:
- Propose, develop, and evaluate new machine learning models that enable understanding of omics data and its application in drug discovery.
- Take the lead and collaborate with leading experts in the field on developing solutions for the interdisciplinary problems in biology and drug discovery.
- Distilling your developed solutions into easy-to-install packages with documentation.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Ph.D. or MSc. in computer science, mathematics and physics, computationally biology science, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in building, training and fine-tuning natural language models, diffusion/flow matching models and/or large scale vision model based on transformer architecture.
- Experience working with omics data, single cell and perturbational data.
- Proven experience using advanced statistical techniques, machine learning, and modern deep learning techniques.
- Strong knowledge of Python, including core data science libraries such as Scikit-Learn, SciPy, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.
- Knowledge of software development good practices and collaboration tools, including git-based version control, python package management, and code reviews.
- Experience cleaning, exploring, and visualising data using packages such as NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, Seaborn, Bokeh, or Plotly.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex machine learning algorithms and statistical methods to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working with cloud environments and tools such as Google cloud, Amazon AWS etc is a bonus.
