We have been retained by a $20bn global alternatives fund looking to build out its European platform. This will be an opportunity to join a high caliber team focused on providing alternative financing to investment grade and sub-investment grade European corporates with asset downside protection.


This opportunity will allow the right individual to gain a large amount of exposure and responsibility much earlier in their career than most other private credit or direct lending funds, given a small sub 10 individual investment team.


Job description:

  1. The Junior Investment professional would support the investment team in underwriting and executing deals as well as exploring new opportunities and monitoring/surveilling existing portfolio opportunities
  2. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  3. Building complex financial models
  4. Identifying markets and sourcing opportunities -origination
  5. Analyzing findings and performing in depth market research
  6. Negotiating terms and structuring agreements and documentation
  7. Participation in and coordination of due diligence processes
  8. Coordination and management of third-party service providers
  9. Monitoring and surveilling the performance of existing positions and overseeing third-party asset managers
  10. Preparing and presenting investment memorandums in front of Investment Committee
  11. Review of documentation

Ideal candidate:

  1. Experience within a bulge bracket, European investment bank or leading boutique
  2. 2 – 5 years total experience within a leveraged finance or equivalent corporate credit team
  3. Preference for a degree in physics, math, engineering, economics, finance, or other with strong record of quantitative course work
  4. Strong corporate finance and excel modelling skills
  5. Soft skills:
  6. Proactive and intellectually curious
  7. Strong professional writing skills
  8. Attention to detail
  9. Strong interpersonal and communications skills
  10. Ability and comfort in managing and coordinating third-party service providers both during underwriting and post-closing of a transaction.
  11. Ability to extract relevant information from legal documents / term sheets
  12. Excellent organizational skills
  13. Ability to work independently and within a team
  14. Willingness to travel
  15. European language skills would be an additional benefit
