An experienced SC Cleared Automation Test Lead is required to join an established delivery team in the Law Enforcement sector. The successful candidate will support an engineering team as part of a broader software delivery team, providing technical leadership and autonomy in the test process.


The role offers a hybrid working pattern but will primarily be based on the customer site in Stratford, London. Candidates should expect to attend the office 2-3 days per week, with occasional requirements for additional on-site presence to collaborate with the team and engage in stakeholder management.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of automation frameworks for Front End and Back End testing, utilizing Cypress, JMeter, and React automated component testing.
  • Integrate automation frameworks into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Design and implement robust test strategies and approaches, ensuring minimal test coverage loss.
  • Provide technical leadership, advising the team on programming tools, techniques, and their application.
  • Develop, configure, and maintain test frameworks, automated scripts, and supporting tools, adhering to high-quality standards.
  • Utilize problem-solving skills to debug, diagnose, and resolve errors using test scripts, diagnostic tools, and technical documentation.
  • Define and implement quality metrics to evaluate and improve test effectiveness and efficiency, ensuring maximum coverage with minimal tests in optimal time.
  • Generate reports on system quality, test cases, and defects using AWS Jira and other management tools.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in key technologies such as automation, scripting, and DevOps within the team.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and optimize all aspects of build, release, testing, continuous integration, and deployment.


Key Skills & Experience:

The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in the following areas:

  • Proficiency with Cypress for Front End testing and JMeter for Back End testing, including React automated component testing.
  • Experience designing and building automation frameworks integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills for complex technical challenges and the ability to design effective strategies for resolution.
  • Hands-on experience with test design, automation scripting, and maintaining frameworks.
  • Familiarity with quality metrics and a focus on test efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Expertise in using diagnostic tools and producing detailed system quality reports.
  • A track record of identifying and automating processes in build, release, testing, and deployment workflows.


Additional Information:

This position requires SC clearance due to the sensitive nature of the work within the Law Enforcement sector. Candidates must meet eligibility criteria for clearance.
