PROJECT WORKER - Carmarthenshire Preventative Service

Job type - Full time/permanent

Salary - £23,962 per annum

Hours - 35 hours per week (+ 5 hour paid lunch)

Monday - Friday 9am- 5pm (There is an on call element attached to this post)
Location – Carmarthenshire

This is an interesting and rewarding new role within the newly commissioned Carmarthenshire Preventative Service which Nacro was recently awarded.

As a Project Worker within our Carmarthenshire Preventative Service you will provide housing support and guidance enabling citizens to develop the skills and confidence that they need to be able to live their life to its fullest potential, as independently as possible, in their own home.As a Project Worker on this new scheme you will be required to provide low-level support to each service user on your caseload for approximately 6 – 8 weeks. You will carry a case load of around 12 -15 service users aged 18 years and above, and will support them with a range of issues including housing, benefits, grants, support with addiction, mental health, and work in a multi -disciplinary way. The successful candidate will require excellent written and verbal communication and be a creative thinker.
A non- judgmental attitude is essential and sound knowledge of safeguarding issues, criminal justice system, housing legislation, welfare benefits, substance misuse, domestic abuse, and mental health would be advantageous.

You will initially be home-based but this role requires you to be out and about in the community most days. A full driving licence and own vehicle is required to be successful in this role for travel throughout Carmarthenshire.

Full training and induction will be provided.

Duties And Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

Carry out initial assessments for service users including any risks of their requirements to determine eligibility. Designing and delivering effective support plans, based on the service user's needs and abilities. Maintain contact with service users as required depending on their needs maintaining a professional relationship and becoming a role model

A DBS check will be required for this role.

Welsh speaker is desirable but not essential.
