• Develop the operational processes and influence the technology roadmap for the Middle Office

• Lead a centralised team of Commercial Analysts and Commercial Banking Representatives to deliver and efficient and customer centric middle office offering

• Manage and coordinate sales support, transaction processing, and post sales activities to support corporate, commercial and retail banking

• Accountable for the onboarding of business and commercial customers and the ongoing management, review and due diligence required to ensure KRIs, KPIs, SLAs are met

• Partner with front line teams to enhance support for revenue generating activities, via the timely and accurate execution of lending transactions

• Create a harmonious relationship with the front-line teams and customers, ensuring the team operates effectively to deliver good outcomes for all stakeholders

• Ensure customers receive AMAZEING service, and front-line teams are able to run more efficiently as a result of middle office operations, measured through NPS/colleague & customer satisfaction surveys

• Provide operational expertise for new product launches and strategic initiatives aimed at increasing revenue

• Serve as the primary liaison between the middle office and front line and back-office teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration 

• Oversee the implementation and maintenance of the systems and tools that are utilised by the middle office

• Manage complex stakeholder relationships including regular Executive and Board level reporting, oversee collation and distribution of meaningful performance MI

What you will need: 

• This role would be well suited to a leader with extensive experience in the sales side of commercial/business banking, who is looking to move into a role leading a key middle office function – a real, senior SME across lending, credit, etc

• Alternatively, you will be a robust Operations Leader, with some lending experience, and who has proven experience of transition, transformation and then delivery for exceptional teams

• Extensive experience of Business / Commercial / Corporate banking activities - knowledge of the end-to-end journey for customers, including transactional banking, products, lending, and cash management

• Experience setting the vision and priorities for teams over rolling 12-month periods, whilst think 3-5 years ahead to create long-term plans that support growth

• Excellent relationship management and interpersonal skills to; build constructive relationships internally, lead a team, manage Third Parties effectively, constructively challenge customers and colleagues at all levels and build organisational reputation

• The ability to quickly get to grips with technology, and to understand how system solutions, and tools can help revolutionise existing processes as part of standardisation and continuous improvement

• A strong understanding Lending documentation, the management of credit risk, covenant monitoring and financial reporting

• An understanding of Financial Crime, AML requirements as well as TCF, conduct and consumer duty expectations

• Excellent organisational and process skills, with strong problem solving and creative skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment and make quick decisions
