About the College

This college is a close-knit educational community that fosters strong relationships among students and staff. High academic expectations are set for all pupils, with a curriculum designed to help students consolidate their learning over time.

While many students thrive academically, there are occasional challenges with off-task behaviour that disrupt lessons. However, the college is actively working on enhancing the consistency of behaviour management strategies among staff. The college offers a range of extracurricular activities and trips, fostering a well-rounded experience for all students.

The college prioritises the needs of students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), ensuring that they have equal access to the curriculum alongside their peers. Staff training is regularly provided to support the diverse learning needs of all students, and there is a strong commitment to safeguarding.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, allowing you to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude, with the ability to motivate and inspire students who may struggle academically or socially.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • A commitment to maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment, actively promoting students’ personal development and safeguarding.
  • Willingness to participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in supporting student learning.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide tailored support to students with SEND, helping them to access the curriculum and engage fully in their learning.
  • Assist teachers in delivering lessons, adapting resources and activities to meet the diverse needs of all students.
  • Monitor and record students’ progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to their development plans.
  • Foster a positive learning environment, encouraging students to take responsibility for their behaviour and learning.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff to develop strategies for improving student engagement and achievement.
  • Support students during extracurricular activities, trips, and events, contributing to a well-rounded educational experience.
  • Participate in safeguarding training and adhere to the college’s policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of all students.
