Role and Responsibilities:
- Teaching: Deliver engaging and innovative dance lessons to students across all year groups (mainly KS4), promoting physical fitness, creativity, and expression.
- Curriculum Development: Collaborate with the PE department to develop and enhance the dance curriculum, ensuring it meets the needs and interests of all students.
- Extracurricular Activities: Lead and support extracurricular dance clubs, teams, and events, encouraging student participation and showcasing talent.
- Assessment: Prepare and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development in dance.
- Collaboration: Work closely with PE colleagues to integrate dance into the wider physical education program and support departmental initiatives.
Requirements:
- A relevant qualification in dance or a related field.
- Experience teaching dance to young people, preferably in a school setting.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of various dance styles and techniques.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A passion for dance and a commitment to promoting physical education.
