Job description

Job responsibilities

Ensurethat each referred patient and where necessary their family receives anindividual specialist assessment, risk assessment and care plan and is thesubject of regular evaluation which, wherever practicable is formulated inconjunction with the patient and/or their family.

Providespecialist interventions for referred children and their families, within atherapeutic framework, both individually, with families and in groups. Alsoproviding advice and support for other professionals as required.

Establishand maintain supportive and therapeutic relationships with children and theirfamilies referred to the local Team.

Actas the key worker for an identified caseload.

Prepareassessments, treatment reports and discharge summaries, in accordance with localpolicies.

Operate in any appropriate setting includinghospital, primary care facilities, residential homes, schools and units and ifappropriate the childs own home youth service, etc.

Promoteknowledge of mental health and the prevention of mental ill health withchildren and members of the general public, both formally and informally.

Experience in undertaking research projects / clinical audits Significant recent and relevant clinical experience postregistration Previous experience providing a service to children and young people within a multi-disciplinary team Knowledge of current NHS and national priorities in relation to mental and emotional health and wellbeing of Children and Young People Experience of working with patients with severe and enduring mental illness Ability to meet the travel requirements of the post
