The Role

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Lifting Equipment Technician. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety and quality of our lifting equipment through thorough examinations, on-site inspections, and completion of any necessary training and repairs required.



Responsibilities:

  • Conduct on-site inspections to assess the condition and safety of the equipment, identifying any issues or defects.
  • Complete working at height PPE thorough examinations, including inspecting harnesses, lanyards, and other safety gear.
  • Conduct weekly checks of equipment in line with the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER) and Lifting operation lifting equipment regulations (LOLER) .
  • Report on any repairs and maintenance required for lifting equipment promptly and accurately.
  • Complete relevant paperwork, documenting inspection findings, test results, and any actions taken.
  • Perform PAT Testing on all required equipment to assess electrical safety.
  • Ensure that health and safety regulations are adhered to at all times during inspections and maintenance activities.
  • Travel to customer sites throughout the UK to conduct thorough examinations on all lifting equipment, safety harnesses and associated gear.
  • When and where required, wear and maintain provided PPE at all times.


Are You the Right Person for the Job?

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Must have an LEEA level accreditation
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation covering lifting equipment. PUWER, LEEA, Working from height, LOLER
  • Extensive experience of carrying out Lifting Equipment inspections on items including Chains, Slings, Shackles, Truss and various other forms of lifting Equipment.
  • A PAT testing qualification and CSCS card preferable but training will be provided for the right candidate.
  • Must hold a full clean UK Driving license.
  • Ability to travel to our customer sites throughout the UK.
  • Ability to work independently.
