Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for us to recruit additional midwives to our team on the Maternity Assessment Centre which includes AntenatalClinic/Triage/Day Assessment Unit .This unit supports approximately 20,000 episodes of care per year for women who have high risk pregnancies allowing them to be cared for as anoutpatient which enables women to remain at home with their role also involves working with the Obstetric team in consultant led Antenatal clinics and the newly set up Maternity Assessment job role is a fast pace of decision making, autonomous practice with medical cover when require in depth knowledge of a wide range of antenatal complications as well as core midwifery assessment skills in Triage.
Main duties of the job
The post holder is required to provide holistic midwifery care to women/birthing people and babies in the antenatal, Intrapartum and includes to newly created Maternity Assessment Centre comprising ANC, Day assessment unit and TriageThe midwifery care is provided both in hospital, birth centre and community settings including the management of individual caseloads, clientsand/or ward post holder will deputise for the Band 7 in all clinical areas. The role is multidimensional and requires the post holder to integrate and fulfil allthe identified dimensions.

Registered Midwife Practising Midwife Maintained an up to date professional portfolio Training in management of obstetric emergencies

To have obtained or be studying to degree level (or diploma with equivalent experience). Teaching/Mentoring qualification

A good standard of written and spoken English is required to be able to undertake the relevant duties. Ability to demonstrate key issues relating to safeguarding. Knowledge of current evidence based midwifery practice. Ability to demonstrate competence in fetal monitoring. Ability to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of medicines management.
Desirable
Demonstrate a broad knowledge of current midwifery issues. Competent in care of women with epidural analgesia. ( Acute unit) Demonstrate a broad knowledge of current midwifery issues. Competent in Perineal suturing.
