Psychologist/Psychological Therapist (Clinical/Counselling Psychologist, CBT Therapist, Psychotherapist)

This is an exciting opportunity to join a community team and develop innovative approaches to providing mental health care within the community. You will be part of the Crawley and East Grinstead Primary Care Network (PCN) multidisciplinary teams to empower people with long-term health conditions to improve their quality of life and prevent hospital admission.

PCN Psychological Therapists work within a primary care setting and are part of a small team of psychological practitioners within the wider West Sussex PCNs. You will be working alongside social workers and prescribers, community nurses and mental health nurses to provide holistic and integrated approach to care using a variety of therapy models. You will be working across two teams in Crawley and East Grinstead and seeing a diverse patient population.

Psychologically informed practice is embedded and encouraged in our service, and providing reflective practice sessions, contributing to case discussions and consultations, carrying out assessments are essential aspects of the role. You will receive regular individual supervision, peer supervision, meetings with other allied psychologists and access to CPD opportunities throughout the year.

Main duties of the job

As a PCN Psychologist/Psychological Therapist, you will formulate and work with patients who have long-term physical health conditions co-morbid with mental health difficulties, delivering psychological therapy using a variety of evidence-based therapy models. You will provide specialist psychological assessments of patients referred to the East Grinstead Primary Care Network (PCN) community teams.

With these teams, you will promote and develop reflective practice, psychological thinking and services within the organisation. You willprovide advice and consultation to MDT colleagues on patients' psychological wellbeing and contribute to contingency plans.

You will contribute to training and education in psychological understanding and interventions to colleagues and staff in other services and agencies, where appropriate.

Job responsibilities

Qualifications

Essential

A registered/accredited Psychology profession: Clinical/Counselling Psychologist, CBT therapist or Psychotherapist with equivalent experience and additional therapy accreditation in NICE guideline evidence-based practice ( BABCP) Specialist training/or experience relevant to long-term physical health conditions, health psychology, trauma-informed care and reflective practice
