Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a Psychology Graduate to join their SEN department for one of our secondary schools in Tameside. This position will be full-time, starting in September.

The salary for this position will vary between £420 and £450 per week.

Our client school is currently recruiting for a psychology graduate to join their SEN team in September as a full-time Teaching Assistant. This school is easy to commute to from the surrounding areas of Longendale, Hyde, Stalybridge, and Ashton-Under-Lyne.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting pupils who have additional learning requirements due to autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and other moderate learning difficulties. You must understand the behavioural traits that are typical amongst pupils with additional SEN and SEMH support. These can include uncooperative behaviour and anxiety. 

The key responsibilities for this position are:

  • Assisting pupils with their Educational Healthcare Plans (EHCPs).
  • Monitoring the progression of pupils, being able to give feedback to other members of staff including the SENCO.
  • Managing the behaviour of the pupils.
  • Build relationships with the pupils to ensure that you are able to assist them to the best of your ability.
  • Ensuring that all safeguarding positions are being followed correctly.

 This position is expected to be highly rewarding due to the nature of working alongside vulnerable pupils as well as the disadvantaged area. This is an ideal opportunity for recent psychology graduates with a good understanding of SEN support. The highlight of this position is that you will be supported by Teaching Personnel as well as the school that you will be placed in throughout your employment. For the successful candidates, there is the potential to progress onto permanent positions when you have become a qualified teacher.

For this position it is essential that you are willing to apply for a fully enhanced DBS check, you must also be able to provide at least two employment-based references. You must also be aware of safeguarding procedures; training will be provided throughout your application process.
