Job summary

An exciting development opportunity to work in a new and emerging Adult Eating Disorders Service across West Yorkshire as a Lead Occupational Therapist (Band 7)

This is a permanent full-time Occupational Therapist post working within the Link-ED Adult Eating Disorder Service, across West Yorkshire. We have recently been given the opportunity to grow our MDT which has enabled this leadership role to be created. The successful candidate will be leading occupational therapy for the service, in particular developing and embedding the occupational therapy pathway across the 5 geographical areas we cover (Leeds, Wakefield, Calderdale, Kirklees and Bradford). As a service we support service users who have disordered eating secondary to their primary mental health issue, these include Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa and Binge Eating Disorder. You will have some experience of working with individuals with an eating disorder to provide advice and consultation for CMHTs whilst also delivering psychoeducation groups and drop in clinics for service users. Within this role, there will be strong support for research and development. You will support the Clinical Team Manager and wider MDT to complete a service evaluation.

Main duties of the job

You will work closely with your Eating Disorder peers both within Link-ED and the wider CONNECT eating disorder teams, to support smooth transitions of care across the teams for service users.

The trust has an established management and clinical support structure, regular clinical and management supervision and access to peer support and other development opportunities. We work closely with the surrounding universities to support student placements. As an organisation we are keen to support research and development activities.
