Job summary

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a friendly,enthusiastic, and patient-focused individual to join our busy Talking Therapiesadmin team based at the Wulstan Unit, Worcester.

Applicants are required to have excellentorganisation and communication skills which are required to effectively liaisewith a wide range of professionals and patients. This post will suit an individual with a proventrack record of being able to use interpersonal skills to interact andcommunicate appropriately with a variety of patients from differing backgroundsand cultures, patients who have special needs, including physical and mentaldisabilities, learning difficulties and with patients who are anxious and/orupset. We are a supportive andpassionate team and in return we will provide you with full training to ensurethat you can succeed in this role.

You should have recent, relevantadministrative experience with good IT skills and knowledge of a range ofoffice procedures including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).

This is a permanent post hours perweek. Monday to Friday from 9am until 5pm.

Main duties of the job

Key responsibilities for this role include dealingwith incoming telephone calls, processing referrals, booking appointments,attending meetings to provide professional minutes and general day to dayoffice duties. The role will include contact with patients, carers,professionals (internal and external) and colleagues daily.

As well as being part of the admin team, youwill act as a member of the wider NHS Talking Therapies admin functionproviding support and cover when required, liaising with the clinical team andactioning daily admin tasks. You arerequired to have a high level of organisational skills, be self-motivated and ateam player and have a proven track record of being able to work accurately and todeadlines in a confidential manner. Theability to work autonomously within defined parameters is essential.

The ability to prioritise a busy workload andwork flexibly to meet demand are essential requirements of the role as well asa good customer service focus when dealing with internal and external queries.

You will use our in-house IT systems,CareNotes and IAPTus, for which full training will be provided.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Administration duties specific to the role.

Providing support as required answeringtelephone calls, booking patients in for an assessment appointment, data input,liaising with patients, professionals and colleagues, appointment and diarymanagement, maintaining accurate records, minute taking.

The role may require telephone contact withdistressed and anxious patients; you will be provided with training and supportto enable you to manage potentially challenging situations.

Educated to academic Level 3 ( A-Level, NVQ3, OCR/RSA3, City and Guilds 3) in a Business/ Administration related subject or Educated to academic Level 2 ( GCSE Grade A-C) with considerable recent NHS administrative experience and will be expected to undertake the relevant level 3 qualification on appointment to post I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer
